Please note that the colour varies each time due to oils and age of the bakhoor, however the richness and quality of our products remain unchanged despite this.

The shape does not stay the same each time, as it is broken from larger blocks. You may also get smaller bits, however this is normal and works just as well when burning. Comes broken into small pieces like small sugar rocks.

The History of Bakhoor

Bakhoor has been used as a part of Arabian culture for centuries, to greet guests in the home and to mark special occasions. It’s as integral to the greeting of guests in Yemen as offering tea and biscuits is in the UK!

The tradition of the burning of these sugared bricks to release their aromas can be dated all the way back to ancient Egyptian culture, where wealthy families would freshen their homes and cover unwanted odours with the burning of incense. The practice has been carried through to the modern day, with the use of reed diffusers still widespread across multiple countries and cultures!

Everyone has their own style, kind and fragrance that makes them think of home, relaxes them and promotes wellness and creativity.
